The day Daylight Savings time begins is my least favorite day of the year. I am no creditor. I like an immediate return on my hour's investment that comes sooner than eight month down the road. Alas, there is really nothing I can do to change this. However, I can help myself and my family face our sleepy days using shower steamers. I created two different aromatherapy scents. One for the morning and one for the evening. The morning blend has energizing properties, while the evening blend helps my kiddos sleep soundly.
Here is what you will need:
- 1 Cup Baking soda
- 1 Tablespoon Cornstarch or Arrowroot
- 1/3 Water
- Essential Oils ( I used Breathe and Lavender from DoTerra for my Night Time Chill Out steamers, and Grapefruit, Ginger, Orange, and Cardamon for my Wake Up steamers.)
- A muffin tin and liners
Okay, I said 3 ingredients, water doesn't count as an ingredient does it? I digress. This is super simple to make. First, mix the baking soda and the cornstarch together until well mixed and there are no clumps. Then add water until it is well blended. Spoon into the lined muffin tins and bake in a 350 degree oven for 15 minutes or until set. Lastly, add your essential oils. That's it.
Pop this into the tub or onto the shower floor and breathe in the aroma! This is NOT a fizzy bath bomb. I'll cover those later. The benefit of this is the fragrance it delivers when combined with water.
I love to use these to eliminate congestion and to change my moods!
ReplyDeleteThank International Sista, I need to add a recipe for congestion as well. I used Breathe by DoTerra for my kids yesterday, but usually do a blend of: eucalyptus, peppermint, lemon, camphor, and white thyme. It smells great and really helps my asthmatic child.
ReplyDeletePlus, it really is a mood enhancer! My son, who always fights sleep, was like, "Let's go to bed."
